Smart reads Sunday
NS August 9th, 2009
I wanted to post these great reads yesterday but my site was down for awhile because I screwed things up while trying to install a new version of WordPress. Thanks to Jen, I got it all sorted.
Before I get to the linkage, I thought I’d just tell you what posts I’m working on for this week: health care reform in the US, grassroots feminism, the state of my marriage and how the summer holiday with the children is going. I will also be putting up a selection of some of my favourite posts (ones written by me) to celebrate my 500th post as Noble Savage (which is officially this one).
This is by no means a schedule, just some vague idea of what to expect in the week or so. I’m a firm believer in being as non-committal as possible, so as to avoid retracting statements and breaking promises later. Proscrastination runs in my gene pool, particularly on my mother’s side, so I’ve become adept at promising the moon and stars and then waiting until they’re about ready to fall out of the sky before getting round to lassoing them. It’s better to state one’s intentions as mere suggestions of what you’ll actually do, I’ve found. You know what they say about the road to Hell and all…
Without further ado, my favourite reads from the past week, hand-picked and vetted by yours truly.
