Damn women drivers: part deux

NS April 6th, 2009

This is very funny but also made me cringe as it could easily be me some days trying to park my behemoth tank of a car on my teeny, tiny, narrow street. There ain’t no way in hell I’d let a stranger park my car just because they were irritated though! My sympathies to the lady who was undoubtedly embarrassed and flustered.

It reminds me of a joke I read recently:

Q: Why are women so bad at spatial awareness?
A: Because they’ve always been told that this [hold thumb and forefinger about 3 inches apart] is seven inches

Happy Monday!

My 3 y/o is rockin’ out to the music accompanying the video :)

I can totally relate to that . . . in the UK. Narrow streets EVERYWHERE make it impossible for we North Americans to figure out how to park cars. I couldn’t park anywhere when I was over there last time. Not to mention I could barely stay on my side of the maybe-two-inches-wide road in Ireland. Next trip – I’m walking everywhere!!!

Can you hear me groaning from your joke?????

I hated trying to drive in Oxford – those damn narrow streets!

  3. Gah! I’m watching that and shouting ‘turn the damn wheel woman’.
If there is one thing my mother passed on to me, that was how to be a good and confident driver. Thank heavens for her forethought!

@Shannon: Isn’t that music great? I was rockin’ out to it too.

@A Free Man: Must be nice to have the wide, open roads back again. I’m jealous.

@Tara: Me too! (about ‘turn the wheel, woman). I’m a confident city driver but a nervous interstate/motorway driver and a very nervous parker. In my defense, I’ve only been driving over here for about six months and have a massive car in relation to the size of most spots I have to fit into. Why can’t this country introduce angled parking??!
