    That is truly awesome. She’s so distressed. Then – slide over honey, let the man take the wheel. It’ll all be OK…

    thought you’d like this one-thank goodness times have changed!!

  3. I was going to leave some kind of wind-up comment for a chuckle but nothing I could think of could possibly do justice to that. Ye Gods that’s one awful film.

    @A Free Man – I love how it was all “DANGER! Woman driving!” It was almost comical. And then sliding over to let him drive…maybe that’s why bucket seats became more prevalent after the 70s. Women were like “Back off, dude. *I’m* driving and I can’t just ‘scooch over’.”

    @the bad aunt – Yeah, they’ve changed quite a bit, though I think some sexist attitudes regarding women driving still linger. When I took driving lessons last summer the instructor referred to his other female clients as ‘girls’ and made a couple jokes about women drivers. It seemed pretty harmless and lighthearted but I think there *was* a certain element of seriousness to his ‘jokes’.

    @The Brinkster – Congratulations, that must’ve taken a lot of self-restraint. ;)

    Considering that men are more expensive to insure because they are the cause of more accidents this commercial is ludicrous.

    wow! I never knew driving could be so scary and overwhelming! fantastic!
