Sigh.
I long for just one week, one measly week, without rain or clouds and with a temperature reaching something above 72 Fahrenheit. I’d like to be able to walk out of the door in bloody AUGUST without an umbrella, a jacket or a blanket for TNC’s lap in the pushchair. I have summer dresses and skirts that have only been worn once or twice because it just hasn’t been warm enough. It’s enough to make me say screw national health care, I want a decent summer!

Ah, the eternal dilemma. Free health care or weather that accommodates more than snails and slugs.
I know. My daughter has some gorgeous summer dresses that have more or less just hung in the closet all summer! We take the kids to the beach and they moan about being cold and wanting hot chocolate!I never thought I’d miss an Arizona August, but I’m getting there…
we’ve had a near-perfect summer here in chicago (well, except for that whole tornado thing a couple of weeks ago, but you’d probably like that!). you should move here next spring! hey, i have to keep trying, right?
I’d share my summer in Florida photos with you but I have a feeling it would generate a string of curses from you!
Oh, do I remember that feeling well. If it’s any consolation, NEW England can be almost as bad as England in the summertime. I still miss it, though.
Sigh. I sort of know the feeling… we’ve been having thunderstorms several times a week here. It’s rained almost daily for the last two weeks. I feel so cooped up, every time I look out the window and it’s not raining, I take everything I’m doing and transport it outdoors to soak up the fresh air while it lasts. It’s been such a strange summer here.
Oh poor NS, I do feel for you. Perhaps we should swap for the summer, because I miss the weeks of rain. My soggy English soul is dehydrated, and I hate heat and humidity.
Oh yes – after 9 summers in Britain, I’m ready to go back to the USA and restore my vitamin D levels. We looked at health insurance today in fact, and the monthly premiums ($400 a month average…) but I don’t care…. we’ll make it work financially…. just get me out of this neverending cloudy day….
