Thatta girl

I hopped in the shower this morning and was going to be rather quick about it so decided to let TNC run amok upstairs without supervision for all of four minutes. When I turned the water off I could hear a vicious pounding noise and TNC shouting ‘No!’ rather sternly and angrily. I quickly dried off and rushed into the hallway to investigate.
There she was, holding a Disney Princesses musical book that some friend of the family gave her last year and which I thought I had successfully hidden/got rid of. The book squeaked out some shiny, happy Disney song about a fair maiden being rescued by her dark, handsome prince through it’s tiny tinny speaker. TNC was staring thoughtfully at it and for a moment I softened, thinking maybe she really liked it and that I shouldn’t be so mean as to take it away simply because it annoys the shit out of me and I hate the Disney Princesses and all that they represent. But then she gripped it in both hands, shouted ‘No!’ at the top of her lungs and proceeded to slam it into the wall, on the floor, against her cot railings and the dresser, really giving it a good bashing. I was startled as I had never seen her be so violent with something before but admittedly was holding back laughter at the same time.
The laughter could no longer be contained when she put the book on the floor, stomped on it a good few times and then said before walking away in disgust, “Dirty book. Yuck!”
That’s my girl!
